Preparing Your Image for a Personalised Greeting Card
A clear image and a few thoughtful notes are a good starting point for your custom greeting card. Here is what to check before you upload and order.

A favourite image can hold a whole memory, but choosing the right file helps you communicate that memory clearly. If you are ordering Customise your own Greeting Card, take a few minutes to review your image, optional text and notes before adding it to your basket.
Start with the original image
Use the original file where you have it, rather than a screenshot or a copy repeatedly shared through messaging apps. Open it at a larger size and check that the important subject is clear. A face, outline or detail that is already difficult to see may not become clearer when used in a small design.
Keep the focus easy to understand
Look at the background as well as the subject. A busy scene can compete with the detail you want to highlight. If there is a particular person, object or part of the picture that matters, explain that in the notes. Avoid cropping away something essential before you upload.
An image on a screen is a starting reference, not a guarantee of an identical finished appearance. Check the product description and available examples to understand the item you are ordering.
Check the upload requirements
The current image-upload flow accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF files up to 20 MB. Follow the requirements shown on the product page if they change. Wait for the successful upload message before adding the item to your basket. If your browser cannot preview a HEIC image, check the uploaded filename and success message carefully.
Read names and dates twice
Optional text is a chance to add a short message, a name or a meaningful date. Check spelling, capital letters and the date format before submitting. A concise line is often easier to follow than a long paragraph. Use notes for instructions rather than leaving the meaning of your wording open to interpretation.
Leave helpful notes
Tell us which part of the image matters and whether your text is intended as part of the design. Keep instructions clear and consistent. If you are unsure whether a specific request is possible, contact us before ordering; uploading a file does not confirm that every requested alteration can be made.
Use an image you have permission to share, and avoid including personal details that are not needed for the card. Once your file, text and notes are ready, review your selected product and basket before checkout.
